Cool Summer Make-up
Cool Summer is a medium/high value color type, so makeup should be light and soft. Keep blush well in the range of cool pinks, lavender and mauve – you want to capture the fresh, youthful English rose look.
Soft shimmer is central to Cool Summer beauty. The effect is a cloudy luminosity, like diffused moonlight.

How to start your new make-up routine
1. Review your current make-up kit!
You don’t necessarily have to replace everything right away. Compare your existing products with the colors of the Cool Summer makeup palette. If you scroll down, you will find the palettes by product type. What is quite similar can remain. One thing you should definitely get rid of is warm bronzer.
2. Choosing the right shades
The most important thing is the right shade of foundation that matches your skin tone. It is worth spending more time on this and trying it out in person.
You have countless options when it comes to blushes and lipsticks. If you don’t have cool pink lipstick and mauve rose blush in your current make-up kit, put it at the top of your shopping list. For eye make-up, get a cool-neutral eyeshadow palette and brown/grey mascara.
You may not have noticed it yet, but Summer types have fewer products in drugstores. But it’s still worth the effort to find the best products because the change will be immediately noticeable. Cool Summer is significantly aged by makeup that does not match the color type. If you need more help, we recommend our bestselling beauty book with 100+ specific products, shade names, and more.
3. Trying new make-up looks
Since many people use makeup to express their personality, don’t feel limited. Your makeup can be natural or colorful, feel free to use your palette! What we don’t recommend is bronze glow and dewy peachy looks. Instead, use a dark grey or cool brown eyeshadow look, eyeliner. Cool and dusty mauve lipsticks and blushes look great, but you can also use pale cherry shades. What does not match are deep or orange reds, warm brown shades, but try not to focus on what is on the “no list”. You have beautiful colors in your makeup palette, use them!

Cool Summer Foundations
Choosing a foundation is one of the most difficult steps in make-up. Generally, Cool Summer skin can be fair to tan shade. The skin is either cool or neutral-cool with beige, blue or pink undertones.
However, people of color can have very dark skin and still be Cool Summer. As a Cool Summer, look for Cool (C), cool-neutral (CN) or rosy (R) shades. In the long run, don’t overthink it – the final deciding factor is to try the foundation on your face and check the results in daylight to see how it looks.

Cool Summer Blush Shades
Look for a blush that best matches the colors of your natural glow and highlights your soft, classic beauty. You can choose any color from your make-up palette, but it is best to coordinate the color of the blush with your lipstick.

Cool Summer best blush shades:
- cool pink
- lavender pink
- soft pink
- chateau rose
- cool mauve

Cool Summer Lipsticks
Soft pinks, plum pinks, lilac and berry shades are your everyday colors. If you want to wear nude makeup, look for a light, cool nude pink. We recommend burgundy or plum rose from your bold color palette. You can wear lip glosses, as well as matte, satin and slightly glossy finishes.

Cool Summer best lipstick shades:
- cool nude pink
- light mauve
- velvet pink
- soft rose
- plum red
Keep in mind that the perfect shades vary from person to person, even within your color type. It depends on your hue, value, and chroma on an individual level. However, your color palette will help you narrow down your options and make your shopping experience easier!

Cool Summer Eye Make-up
The perfect eye makeup for you depends on what colors and finishes you gravitate towards – it’s completely personal. As a Summer type, soft, cool colors look fabulously on you. This is often the opposite of the makeup you see in advertisements and social media.
For a day-to-day, subtle eye makeup look, the best option is using shades of grey, navy and cool brown, as they pair well with most Cool Summer eye hues.

Cool Summer Make-up Looks
From nude, natural makeup to bold, party looks, you have countless options. You have to make sure that the overall effect remains cool and airy. Don’t use too warm shades.

Cool Summer Mature Skin Make-up
The Cool Summer color type is lucky because it retains its youthful charm as it ages. The already low/medium contrast can be further reduced by graying or white hair. However, it is not recommended to change the color palette. It is possible that you felt the vibe of Barbie colors more when you were younger (but soft powder colors look great on you forever!), many people prefer neutral colors as they get older. It’s totally up to you.

Cool Summer Nail Colors
Since you have a cool color type, soft icy colors look good on you. Choose nude pink colors or rose or mauve pinks, lavenders but sophisticated taupe and gray colors also look great. Calm ocean blue and teal are some of your best colors!

Cool Summer best nail polish shades:
- rose pink
- lavender, cool mauve
- dusty burgundy rose
- ocean blue, teal
- grey, silver, taupe

Cool Summer Hair Colors
When choosing color for your hair, there are many factors to consider. But the goal is to pick a shade that best accentuates your natural features. Cool Summer season’s hair is cool and ashy. It can range from dark blonde to light ash brown or dark cool brown. It always has a cool, ashy tone with absolutely no warmth. If you want to lighten your hair color, make sure you choose cool, icy or ash blonde. It may be surprising, but soft, cool platinum blonde can also look good.

Cool Summer season’s hair is cool and ashy. It can range from dark blonde to light ash brown or dark cool brown. It always has a cool, ashy tone with absolutely no warmth. Irrespective of color, hair often has a smoky or powdery finish rather than the glossy luster of Springs or even Light Summers. There is great beauty in this unusual quality.

Frequently Asked Questions
I don’t like my beauty color palette, what should I do?
I am convinced that color type analysis benefits everyone. But by using its rules, makeup and dressing should be easier, bring joy, not restrict and stress. There are different personalities, we relate to colors and makeup differently. Someone is more rule-following, someone is more rebellious. If you feel like wearing a heavy, black smoky eye with red lipstick, do it. However, it is worth knowing that this does not suit you best.
The color palette of Cool Summer and the makeup colors are both cool and powdery. If you are averse to these colors, there are still plenty of neutral options. You can wear dark gray or navy eye makeup and choose a muted or darker color from your lipstick palette.
Should I avoid black?
Yes, black is one of the colors you should avoid the most. It creates too much contrast on the face and makes you look older. Instead, choose dark gunmetal or charcoal gray, dark navy, or cool chocolate brown for eye makeup.
Can I use bronzer?
Bronzer gives a beautiful sun-kissed effect, but it doesn’t look good on Summers because it contrasts with cool tones. If you still want to use it, choose a light and cool shade (you can find recommendations in your Beauty Book), but highlighters are more suitable for Cool Summers.
Can I wear red lipstick?
Absolutely! But when choosing a specific shade, keep in mind that warm, classic reds are not the best for Cool Summer. Choose pale cherry red, a slightly pinker shade. But you can also experiment with dusty burgundy and plum red shades.
What hair color should I choose?
If you don’t like your natural hair color and want to change it, be careful not to choose a color that is too warm or too dark. From white blonde to medium cool brown, a variety of colors can work well. The exact shade that will work best depends on your individual characteristics and your starting hair color.
