Light Summer Make-up
The skin of Light Summers has an incredible luminosity. Light, pastel rose or baby pinks look great on you. All you need is a touch of color and shimmer for an ethereal glow. Let your motto be less is more. Because of your light colors and low contrast, your blush will easily look too much.

How to start your new make-up routine
1. Review your current make-up kit!
You don’t necessarily have to replace everything right away. Compare your existing products with the colors of the Light Summer make-up palette. If you scroll down, you will find the palettes by product type. What is quite similar can remain. One thing you should definitely get rid of is black eyeliner.
2. Choosing the right shades
The most important thing is the right shade of foundation that matches your skin tone. It is worth spending more time on this and trying it out in person.
You have countless options when it comes to blushes and lipsticks. If you don’t have light pink lipstick and pastel pink blush in your current make-up kit, put it at the top of your shopping list. For eye makeup, get a cool-neutral eyeshadow palette and brown mascara.
You may not have noticed it yet, but Summer types have fewer products in drugstores. This is especially true for Light Summer. But it’s still worth the effort to find the best products because the change will be immediately noticeable. Light Summer is significantly aged by make-up that does not match the color type.
If you need more help, we recommend our bestselling beauty book with 100+ specific products, shade names, and more.
3. Trying new make-up looks
Since many people use makeup to express their personality, don’t feel limited. Your make-up can be natural or colorful, feel free to use your palette! What we don’t recommend is black smoky eye make-up look and bronze glow. Instead, use a softer grey or cool brown eyeshadow look, eyeliner. Soft and coral pink lipsticks and blushes look great, but you can also use dusty mauve. What does not match are deep or orange reds, dark burgundy shades, but try not to focus on what is on the “no list”. You have beautiful colors in your makeup palette, use them!

Light Summer Foundations
Choosing a foundation is one of the most difficult steps in make-up. Generally, Light Summer skin can be fair to medium shade. However, people of color can have very dark skin and still be Light Summer. As a Light Summer, look for Cool (C), cool-neutral (CN) or neutral (N) shades. In the long run, don’t overthink it – the final deciding factor is to try the foundation on your face and check the results in daylight to see how it looks.

Light Summer Blush Shades
Look for a blush that best matches the colors of your natural glow and highlights your angelic appearance. You can choose any color from your make-up palette, but it is best to coordinate the color of the blush with your lipstick.

Light Summer best blush shades:
- pastel pink
- soft pink
- rose pink
- strawberry pink
- coral pink
The colors of Light Summer are brighter and more saturated than the other two Summer palettes. It may be surprising, but due to the Spring effect, coral pink blushes are also recommended.

Light Summer Lipsticks
Soft pinks and rose shades are your everyday colors. If you want to wear nude makeup, look for a light, cool nude pink. We recommend raspberry, pale cerise or coral paradise from your bold color palette.
You can wear lip glosses, as well as matte, satin and slightly glossy finishes.

Light Summer best lipstick shades:
- baby pink
- soft pink
- cool pink
- mauve rose
- watermelon pink
Keep in mind that the perfect shades vary from person to person, even within your color type. It depends on your hue, value, and chroma on an individual level. However, your color palette will help you narrow down your options and make your shopping experience easier!

Light Summer Eye Make-up
The perfect eye makeup for you depends on what colors and finishes you gravitate towards – it’s completely personal. As a Summer type, light, soft colors look fabulously on you. This is often the opposite of the makeup you see in advertisements and social media.
For a day-to-day, subtle eye makeup look, the best option is using shades of grey and soft brown, as they pair well with most Light Summer eye hues.

Light Summer best eyeshadow shades:
- taupe grey
- soft pink
- periwinkle
- pastel shades
- cool browns and greys

Light Summer Make-up Looks
From nude, natural makeup to bold, party looks, you have countless options. You have to make sure that the overall effect remains airy and light. Don’t use too dark or warm shades.

Light Summer Mature Skin Make-up
The Light Summer color type is lucky because it retains its youthful charm as it ages. The already low contrast can be further reduced by graying or white hair. However, it is not recommended to change the color palette. It is possible that you felt the vibe of Barbie colors more when you were younger (but pastel colors look great on you forever!), many people prefer neutral colors as they get older. It’s totally up to you.

Light Summer Nail Colors
Since you have a light color type, delicate and soft colors look good on you. Dark nail polishes will create too much contrast. Choose pastel colors or coral pinks, but sophisticated taupe and gray colors also look great. Light blue and aqua are some of your best colors!

Light Summer best nail polish shades:
- pastel pink
- lavender
- baby blue, aqua
- watermelon red
- grey, taupe, nude pink

Light Summer Hair Colors
When choosing color for your hair, there are many factors to consider. But the goal is to pick a shade that best accentuates your natural features. Light Sumer season’s hair is light. It can range from icy light to medium ash blonde or light ash brown. The darkest hair colors in this season don’t typically go further than a medium brunette. Many Light Summers were blonde as children, but their hair has darkened with age.

If you want to lighten your hair color, take a look at your eye color and think about what shades might enhance it. If you have cool blue or green eyes, ash or platinum blondes will look great. If you have azure eyes, Nordic blonde is a better choice. But we emphasize that your natural color is also wonderful: mousy or “beige” hair can enhance your unique beauty.

Light Summer Hair Colors to Avoid
As a neutral season, that mix of warm and cool balances beautifully and gives you lift. However, make sure that your hair does not have brass shades as the hair dye fades.
Light Summer hair colors to avoid:
- golden blonde
- copper red
- auburn red
- mahogany
- dark golden brown

Frequently Asked Questions
I don’t like my beauty color palette, what should I do?
I am convinced that color type analysis benefits everyone. But by using its rules, makeup and dressing should be easier, bring joy, not restrict and stress. There are different personalities, we relate to colors and makeup differently. Someone is more rule-following, someone is more rebellious. If you feel like wearing a heavy, black smoky eye with red lipstick, do it. However, it is worth knowing that this does not suit you best.
The color palette of Light Summer and the makeup colors are both light and pastel. If you are averse to these colors, there are still plenty of neutral options. You can wear dark grey or navy eye makeup and choose a muted or darker color from your lipstick palette.
Should I avoid black?
Yes, black is one of the colors you should avoid the most. It creates too much contrast on the face and makes you look older. Instead, choose carbon or charcoal gray, dark blue, or dark brown for eye makeup.
Can I use bronzer?
Bronzer gives a beautiful sun-kissed effect, but it doesn’t look good on Summers because it contrasts with cool tones. If you still want to use it, choose a light and cool shade (you can find recommendations in your Beauty Book), but highlighters are more suitable for Light Summers.
Can I wear red lipstick?
Absolutely! But when choosing a specific shade, keep in mind that bold, classic reds are not the best for Light Summer. Choose watermelon red, a slightly pinker shade. But you can also experiment with soft fuchsia if your skin tone is cooler.
What hair color should I choose?
If you don’t like your natural hair color and want to change it, be careful not to choose a color that is too dark or too warm. From light, icy blonde to medium ashy brown, a variety of colors can work well. The exact shade that will work best depends on your individual characteristics and your starting hair color.
